Pilot's Passport

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 7, 2026

Pilot's Passport is a digital aviation passport that lets pilots log the airports they visit, collect airport stamps, document flights and share those flights with other pilots. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Pilot's Passport is intended for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Information we collect

  • Account information. Your email address and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider), or the basic profile returned by Google if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Pilot profile. The name, username, bio, home airport and profile photo you choose to add.
  • Flight and activity information. Flights you log — routes, airports, dates, aircraft details, hours, notes and, if you use flight tracking, the GPS track recorded on your device while you choose to record.
  • Airport visits and stamps. The airports you mark as visited, the stamps you unlock, and any tips or ratings you add.
  • Photos and videos. Media you upload to flights, posts, visits or your profile.
  • Community content. Posts, comments, likes, follows and direct messages you send to other pilots.
  • Technical information. Basic log and error data generated when the app runs, used to keep the service working.

How we use it

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • To build your passport: flights, airport visits, stamps and statistics.
  • To power community features you choose to use — posts, follows and messages.
  • To generate the story and share graphics you create from your own flights.
  • To diagnose problems and keep the app reliable.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

What other people can see

Your profile, posts and public flights can be seen by other signed-in pilots. Flights, visits and photos you mark private stay visible only to you. Direct messages are visible only to you and the pilot you are messaging.

Services we rely on

  • Supabase — hosts our database, authentication and file storage for your photos and videos.
  • Google Sign-In — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Mapbox — renders the maps and satellite imagery used for flight routes. Map requests include the coordinates being displayed.
  • Lovable — hosts the app and provides the image-generation service used to create airport stamp artwork from public airport data.

These providers process data on our behalf so the app can function.

Location data

Location is used only while you actively record a flight, so the app can build your GPS track and suggest the airports you visited. You can decline or revoke location access in your device settings; the rest of the app continues to work.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your content while your account exists. You can delete individual flights, posts, photos and visits at any time, and you can permanently delete your account from Settings — this removes your account and associated content from our systems.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with row-level access rules so that private content is only reachable by its owner. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your information by using the app or by emailing us. We respond to requests as quickly as we reasonably can.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update this page and change the date at the top.
